Agencies

Register in person

Temp agencies are how you get the first office weeks on a CV. Go on a weekday morning if you can, dressed as you would for an office: neat and simple.

What to bring

  • Your CV, printed and also on your phone. Make it in the CV builder, then Save as PDF.
  • Photo ID, such as a passport or driving licence.
  • Something with your address on it, such as a letter or bill.
  • Your National Insurance number.
  • Bank details, in case they need them to pay you.
  • A pen, and a spare copy of the CV.

What to say

  • You are 18, you live in Eastbourne, and you want temporary back-office work: data entry, accounts support, or admin that is not customer-facing.
  • You do not want retail tills, reception, or a front desk.
  • You are happy to start on temp work so you can get office experience.
  • Longer term you are interested in fashion, but the first job is about learning an office.
  • If they only offer shop or reception work, say politely that you want back office, and ask them to keep you in mind.

Sign up on the website the same day, even if the visit is short, so you are on their system. Only links checked in October 2026 are listed. If a branch has moved, use the contact page rather than an old address.

Eastbourne branch

HR GO

The local one. They have an Eastbourne branch. The page lists the address and weekday hours. Walk in and ask to register for temporary office work.

Office Angels

They place people in office jobs. Register on the site, and use the contact page to ask which branch covers Eastbourne before you travel. There is no separate Eastbourne branch page to send you to.

First Recruitment

A South East agency. The contact page lists Brighton, Haywards Heath, and Horsham — not an Eastbourne office. Worth a visit if you are already going to Brighton.

Pro Talent

Accountancy recruiters based in Brighton, covering Sussex. More useful once you have a little accounts experience, but you can still introduce yourself. This is the accountancy path, not general shop work.

Reed

The nearest Reed office is in Brighton and covers the South East. The office page has the address and how to visit. You can also register on Reed.co.uk and set alerts there.

Michael Page

They list East Sussex jobs online. On the contact page, enter your postcode and see which office comes up before you travel. Do not rely on an old Brighton address.

Hays

Hays has jobs listed in Brighton. Their office finder does not currently show an Eastbourne or Brighton branch, so check it before you make a trip. Searching their Brighton jobs is still worth doing from home.
